📝 Description du poste
CIMMYT is a cutting‑edge, non‑profit, international organization dedicated to solving tomorrow’s problems today. It fosters improved quantity, quality and reliability of cereal production (maize, wheat, sorghum, millets…) through applied agricultural science, especially in the Global South. The purpose of this position is to support the efficient management and sustainable use of research field plots, infrastructure and equipment, planning and implementing best agronomic practices to maintain field integrity, manage soil fertility and ensure sustained productivity.
🎯 Missions principales
- Field & Infrastructure Management : maintenance of field integrity and soil fertility, land planning and allocation, preparation of plots, operation and support of irrigation and drainage systems, maintenance of farm equipment and security of assets, establishment and monitoring of new infrastructure (trial fields, screenhouses, irrigation).
- Trial Implementation & Crop Operations : execution of agronomic operations (planting, fertilisation, weeding, pest‑disease control, harvesting, post‑harvest handling), support of managed stress trials (drought, nutrient stress), monitoring and reporting of pest, disease and abiotic stress incidences.
- Team Support & Resource Management : supervision of field staff and casual labour, coordination of daily field activities, contribution to training of staff and partners.
👤 Profil recherché
- Diplôme en agronomie, biologie, sciences agronomiques ou domaine connexe.
- Expérience avérée en gestion de parcelles de recherche et en conduite d’essais agronomiques.
- Connaissances pratiques des systèmes d’irrigation, de drainage et de machinerie agricole.
- Capacité à superviser et former du personnel sur le terrain.
- Bonne maîtrise du français et de l’anglais, esprit d’équipe et autonomie.
